Crown Lengthening
Crown lengthening is involving adjusting the level of the gum tissue and bone around the tooth. This is done by cutting the gingival tissue around a tooth and removing a calculated amount of alveolar bone from the circumference of the tooth or teeth being operated on. Crown lengthening procedures can also be used to correct a “gummy smile” where teeth are covered by excess gum tissue.
